Zantel Reports Strong Progress on Its Network Modernisation Process Aiming at Improving Significantly The Quality of Calls and Data for Its Customers

Dar es Salaam, Thursday 13, April 2017. In its endeavor to keep up the pace of delivering innovative telecommunication solutions that have continued to change the lives of millions of people in Tanzania, Zantel has continued to undertake a complete modernization of its network in order to ensure that customers enjoy the best 4G data experience. 

In a press statement issued in Dar es Salaam today, Benoit Janin, Zantel Chief Executive Officer said, 

"The process of upgrading our network in Zanzibar and the mainland has been ongoing for a while now to ensure that our customers continue to enjoy the benefits of mobile technology with Zantel. The ongoing network upgrade will further strengthen our network quality, unmatched coverage and access the fastest internet services available in the market today on our new 4G network".

According to him, the upgrading of all sites covering Stone Town and the whole of Urban West Region has just been achieved. The exercise is ongoing now in Unguja and Pemba Islands will be achieved in May. 

The whole project worth more than USD 10M, and once the project is completed, Zantel will be able to offer the best possible customer experience to its users, with a network coverage more than doubled -85% of Tanzania population, best voice quality and data speed together with improved financial inclusion. 

He said the project aims to replace all sites in Zanzibar and the mainland with the latest model equipment and add new equipment where required.
